I just love watching the Golden Girls, every night! The reason I love this show so much is because I feel connected to the people I spent 3 years, My Brashier Girls! I know they watch it too and I feel close to them every night... even though we are miles away! I love the way these girls live together, fight with each other, but still love each other more at the end of the day. This show can be inappropriate with all of Blanche's talk about her escapades! BUT this show shows real friendship... at least girls friendships.
I've been examining my friendships lately... how much I keep in touch with people and how much I miss certain people in my life. Growing up I had a few friends that were close and girls, but I surrounded myself with guys... In the first grade I was told that if I wanted to play outside I needed to start playing with girls. In college I had class with all boys, but I lived with some awesome girls who became my family! Every friendship is different! I have certain friends that when I am going through something rough I always want to talk too... Some of my friends I talk to once a year and still feel like we are the best of friends. Some people I have grown away from and I miss like crazy!
The interesting thing about my friendships are the ones that have lasted the longest are the ones that were brought together with Christ. God has granted me the some of the greatest on the planet! I might be an only child who loves to have one on one time with my friends, but the friends I have understand that and love me anyway! They have become apart of my family!
I just have to say....
Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down the road and back again
Well, your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidante.
And if you threw a party, invited everyone you knew,
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
...And the card attached would say "Thank you for being a friend"
