Where everybody knows your name!

So, growing up my mom always said that CHEERS would make a great name for a church. The reason was that the theme song was the perfect church. The lyrics are below:

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.

Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

Isn't it true... We want to be where everyone knows our name and they are so happy to see us. Churches like bars should be the places we go when are lives feel like they are falling apart. We should feel like we aren't the only one who has problems at church.
Here's the question for today... How do you and your church rate on the Cheers scale? How are we at making people feel at church? Are we seriously glad that people came? Do we share our problems with others?

I'm the type of person that loves genuine people. For me, I think a genuine person is not always happy. There are times when everyone is down and we shouldn't put on a happy face, but we should show our emotions. As Christians we should show how God works in our lives! He takes us from the low points and brings us to our Mountain tops.
